Deborah A. Dana: Polyvagal Theory and Attachment - Part 1

Karen welcomes Deborah A. Dana, LCSW, to the show for part one of their two part discussion on the connection between Polyvagal theory and attachment. Part two will be released on Tuesday, February 16th.

Deborah A. Dana is a clinician and consultant specializing in working with complex trauma. Dana consults with the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium in the Kinsey Institute and an advisor to Khiron Clinics. She has authored or co-edited several books on Polyvagal Theory, including The Polyvagal Theory in Therapy: Engaging the Rhythm of Regulation, Polyvagal Exercises for Safety and Connection: 50 Client-Centered Practices and Clinical Applications of the Polyvagal Theory: The Emergence of Polyvagal-Informed Therapies which she worked on with Stephen Porges, developer of the Polyvagal Theory, poetically described as the science of feeling safe enough to fall in love with life and take the risks of living. In addition, Dana developed the Rhythm of Regulation Clinical training series.
